We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our friend and colleague, Joel MacIntosh. Joel passed away on July 1st after a courageous battle with ALS.
Joel was a pioneer in real estate data distribution, and a friend to the industry and real estate professionals everywhere. It is hard to believe he is gone. Our sincerest condolences to Joel’s family and to those close to him.
John Reilly and my relationship with Joel goes back almost 30 years, to the 1990s, and the early days of “Broker Reciprocity,” later known as IDX (Internet Data Exchange). Joel’s company, Wolfnet initially gained recognition for its IDX services, beginning with a request he received for “broker reciprocity” from a broker in Minnesota around 1997-98.
When I was CEO at Point2 in 2009, we trusted in Joel and Wolfnet, using Wolfnet’s IDX solution instead of building the capability ourselves.
It was always a joy to see Joel at conferences and events. His presence lit up the room.
He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
This video was recorded in July of 2018 at an Inman Connect in San Francisco. John is behind the camera, and I had the pleasure of being the interviewer.
