One of the answers, without a doubt, is Standards. The idea of a “Data Dictionary” was first introduced to me in 1995 while working on the REALTORS Information Network (RIN) project which became REALTOR .com. It was referred to as DxM.
RESO (Real Estate Standards Organization) has taken the real estate “Data Dictionary” to new heights.
